A Level Results Summary 2024
We would like to congratulate all Birkdale students on their A level results. Nearly half of all grades achieved were at the highest grades A*/A, with 72% of the entries achieving A*/B grade.
12 students achieved 3 A* or more with 3 students, Abdullah, Elizabeth and Simon achieving 4 A* grades.
Our students move on to a wide range of courses at some of the country’s most prestigious universities, including:
- 5 students gained places at Cambridge University. 3 students will study Medicine, Tom at Trinity Hall, Simon and Abdullah at Gonville & Caius. Jude, will study Law at St Catharine’s College and Zach will study Mathematics at Trinity.
- 15 students will study Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine at a variety of universities including 3 at Cambridge, University College London, Imperial, Newcastle, Sheffield and Nottingham.
- 6 students will study Law.
- 3 students will study Geography, Kira at Edinburgh University, Lucy at Durham University and Sophia at London School of Economics. Lily will also study PPE at Edinburgh.
- In the arts, Jacob achieved 2 A* grades, which follow his A* grade achieved in music last year. He will study music at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London.
- Dan and Isabelle will study Architecture at Liverpool with Sophie doing Interior Design at Kingston. Tilly will pursue an Art Foundation at University of Arts, Leeds.
- 5 members of our Aspiring Athlete Programme are choosing to continue their sports studies or to pursue their sport. Luke has the exciting opportunity of going to Le Moyne College, New York, USA on a sports scholarship for tennis Harry and Oliver will study Sports Science at Loughborough. Tom W will study Aerospace Engineering also at Loughborough, allowing him to continue with his swimming and Tom C will study Science and Sport Performance at Leeds Beckett.
- 12 students will study Economics, Finance or Business related degrees, testament to the highly successful department at Birkdale.
- 25 students will study STEM related subjects (excluding medicine). This includes 4 students studying Aerospace Engineering.
